Skeletal Anchorage in Orthodontics

Stable anchorage is an essential condition for ensuring the success of orthodontic treatment. However, conventional orthodontic anchorage can be limited by issues such as periodontal disease or missing teeth. Skeletal anchorage has proven particularly effective and is an essential solution for treatments requiring low patient cooperation. It also expands the therapeutic options available to orthodontic practitioners.

Mini-implants offer significant advantages due to their minimally invasive insertion protocol and relatively affordable cost. However, conventional mini-implant systems may present certain limitations for orthodontic anchorage. In collaboration with renowned specialists, PSM developed the unique BENEfit® TAD system, designed for temporary palatal fixation.

The BENEfit® system includes high-precision titanium implant screws, accompanied by a wide range of prefabricated components such as BENEplates®, abutments, and palatal expansion devices. With the introduction of this system, PSM has significantly expanded therapeutic possibilities, particularly for mesialization, distalization, rapid palatal expansion (RPE), as well as for tooth uprighting and anchorage.
